Deputy Director Umair Zahid, along with Superintendent Syed Mohsin Shah, initiated strict monitoring of incoming goods to thwart any smuggling attempts. During surveillance, they identified a Hino oil tanker, bearing the registration number TMN-080, suspected of carrying the illegal fuel.

Upon interception, the driver of the tanker was asked to present import documents to verify the legality of the consignment. However, the driver provided irrelevant Goods Declaration (GD) forms and mismatched import documents, raising further suspicion.

The authorities subsequently seized the vehicle, which was found to be carrying 43,660 liters of high-speed diesel. The estimated market value of the seized diesel is approximately Rs10.520 million.

Further investigations are underway to trace the origins of the smuggled fuel and identify the parties involved in the illegal operation. This action by Customs Intelligence is part of ongoing efforts to curb smuggling and ensure the proper enforcement of customs regulations in the region.
