Customs JIAP thwarts attempt to smuggle marijuana from Thailand

KARACHI: Collectorate of Customs team deputed at the International Mail Office, Jinnah International Airport (JIAP), Karachi, detaineda package containing half a kilogram of marijuana.

The market value of seized narcotics is  Rs2,500,000, originated from Bangkok, Thailand.

The intended recipient, identified as James from Khayaban-e-Badr, Karachi, is now under investigation. Customs officials have impounded the package and are working to identify and apprehend those involved in the smuggling attempt.

The investigation will include a forensic analysis of the seized marijuana, tracing the sender and recipient, and uncovering the extent of the narcotics network.

This seizure highlights the ongoing efforts of Pakistan Customs at JIAP to combat international narcotics trafficking and safeguard the nation from illegal substances. Collector Adeem Khan, Additional Collector Muhammad Faisal, and Deputy Collector Hammad have tightened monitoring at JIAP.
