The impounded items included 158 mobile phones worth approximately Rs50 million and other items such as Sheesha flavors. The total estimated duties and taxes on the seized goods amount to Rs15 million.

Deputy Collector Maryam Jamila led the operation alongside a team of Multan Airport Superintendent Nasir Zaman. Stringent vigilance measures and the use of advanced scanning technology played a critical role in detecting the smuggled items.

“This operation reflects our commitment to curbing smuggling activities and protecting the national economy.

Further investigations are underway to identify those responsible,” stated Collector Tayyaba Kayani in her report.

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) lauded the team’s efforts and reiterated its stance on taking strict action against smuggling attempts.
