KARACHI: The Italian Navy’s training ship Amerigo Vespucci, considered as the world’s most beautiful ship, has docked at Karachi during a world tour.
The oldest ship of the Italian Navy will stay at the Karachi Port from December 7 to 8.
The Italian Ambassador and Consul General welcomed the senior officials of the Italian Navy at the Karachi Port.
The oldest Italian ship has arrived in Pakistan at the 29th port during the world tour. This is the ship’s first visit to Pakistan.
A custodian of the oldest maritime and seafaring traditions for ninety years, Amerigo Vespucci is one of Italy’s most famous symbols in the world.
The “Vespucci World Tour” initiative has the full support of the Minister of Defence Guido Crocetto, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and other ministries.
The traditional training activity of officer cadets and the promotion of high performance are combined and made in Italy. Vespucci is the symbol of the Navy and Italy itself.
Following maritime traditions, over the years, it has played a significant role in enhancing the prestige of the country.
The ship departed from the port of Genoa on July 1, 2023 to complete a nearly 2-year journey around the world.
