MULTAN: Rana Ghulam Mujtaba Noon, the Superintendent of Customs Enforcement in Multan, who had been missing for over four weeks, has been found safe and in good health.
The officer, who had been the subject of a police and departmental search following his sudden disappearance, visited the Customs House in Multan to inform authorities that he was unharmed and on official leave.
Mr. Noon’s unexplained absence had raised significant concern among his family, colleagues, and the wider community. His family had reached out to both the Customs Collectorate and local police, expressing distress over his whereabouts.
During his absence, concerns grew after it was revealed that Mr. Noon had previously received death threats from unidentified individuals. Despite this, authorities had struggled to make progress in the investigation.
Upon his return, Mr. Noon reassured his family and colleagues that he was in good health, though his cell phone remained switched off, and he is now officially on leave. His family, particularly his children, had been under significant emotional strain during the weeks he was missing. However, with his safe return, the family has expressed relief and gratitude.
Mr. Noon, with over 30 years of service in various Customs departments, including Multan, Lahore, and Islamabad, is well-respected for his role in the Anti-Smuggling Organization. His sudden disappearance had created an air of unease among his colleagues, especially those in the Enforcement division.
