Ch. M. Khalid Asad elected president of Multan Tax Bar Association for 2025-26

MULTAN, Feb 26: The Multan Tax Bar Association (MTBA) affiliated with the Pakistan Tax Bar Association, successfully concluded its election for the 2025-26 term, marking a decisive victory for Ch. M. Khalid Asad who secured the President position. 

In a closely contested election, Ch. M. Khalid Asad won with 136 votes, defeating Niaz Ahmad Khan who secured 98 votes. The election board reported a total of 239 votes cast with 5 votes rejected. Khalid Hussain secured the Vice President Position with 138 votes defeating M. Sharif Ansari who received 93 votes. A total of 7 votes were rejected bringing the overall count in this race to 239.

The election witnessed an enthusiastic turnout, with candidates actively campaigning in the lead-up to polling day. Ch. M. Khalid Asad’s victory by a margin of 38 votes underscores the strong support he received from the tax law community. Similarly, Khalid Hussain’s 45-vote lead reflects members’ confidence in his leadership. 

In his victory speech Ch. M. Khalid Asad extended his gratitude to MTBA members, pledging to enhance the association’s role in legal and professional excellence. He emphasized improving tax-related legal services, advocating for practitioners, and fostering better coordination with tax authorities. Vice President Khalid Hussain echoed similar sentiments, outlining his vision for strengthening training and development programs for tax lawyers. 

It is noteworthy that in this election all other Ansari Group candidates were elected unopposed, including General Secretary Rizwan Ahmed Sheikh, Joint Secretary Owais Ansari, Library Secretary Shehla Shaheen, Finance Secretary Imran Javed, and Executive Members Tazeem Ahmed Bajwa, Salman Khalid, Shoaib Mehboob, and Ansar Javed. 

The election results reaffirm MTBA’s commitment to democratic values and professional growth, positioning the association to play a key role in the evolving tax law landscape.
