KARACHI: A Customs officer, identified as Rana Haris, was caught filming a TikTok video during official duty, sparking controversy after the footage went viral on social media.

Despite a federal government ban on creating TikTok videos in uniform, the officer disregarded the policy and appeared in uniform while performing for the camera.

Rana Haris is reported to have recently joined Customs Services, making the violation even more concerning for authorities monitoring discipline among new recruits.

The footage reportedly shows the officer engaging in the popular video sharing activity during his working hours leading to concerns about professional conduct and adherence to official directives.

This incident brings to light the federal government’s clear prohibition against officers in uniform creating TikTok videos. The ban was put in place to maintain decorum and ensure that official duties are not compromised by social media activities.

The viral video has prompted discussions about disciplinary action and the need for stricter enforcement of guidelines regarding social media use by government employees.
