ISLAMABAD: Chief Executive Officer Pakistan Furniture Council (PFC), Mian Kashif Ashfaq urged for a comprehensive package of attractive incentives in the federal budget to boost the exports of Pakistan’s high-quality furniture products in international markets.

Chairing the board of directors meeting, he said Pakistan has immense potential to become a leading exporter of hand-crafted and modern furniture, but it requires strong policy support and facilitation from the government, says a press release.

He urged for reduced duties on raw materials, easier access to financing, and the establishment of modern design and training centers to uplift the industry.

He emphasized that the furniture sector can significantly contribute to employment generation and economic growth if given proper facilitation.

He also called for increased participation in global furniture exhibitions and trade fairs to enhance the visibility of Pakistani craftsmanship. He expressed hope that the budget will reflect a pro-export approach, enabling the sector to grow and compete internationally.
