83 elevators for 24 bus stations on Jan 6: Contractors to complete metro bus project till Jan 30

RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has urged the contractors to complete metro bus project within 20 days and rejected their plea to extend January 30 deadline.

The contractors had requested to extend the deadline during a meeting held at the Convention Centre with Metro Bus Project Implementation Committee Chairman Hanif Abbasi in the chair.

Project Director and Commissioner Rawalpindi Zahid Saeed refused to accept the request and asked the contractors to speed up the work in three shifts by involving more labour force.

However, it was agreed that the necessary work should be completed so that the bus service would be launched on January 31. The meeting was informed that 83 elevators for 24 bus stations would arrive from China on January 6.
