FBR forms four teams to curb tax evasion in Lahore

LAHORE: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Regional Tax Office (RTO), Lahore, constituted four squads of Inland Revenue Enforcement Network (IREN) to curb tax evasion.

According to details, FBR operationalized its Inland Revenue Enforcement Network, which will be headed by a deputy commissioner of Inland Revenue (IR).

Each squad will comprise five members. These squads were assigned special tasks under the sales tax act and the federal excise act.

These special squads will monitor bogus and fake invoices that were submitted through illegal channels.

These squads have to submit their field reports on a daily basis. Strict action will be taken against those who are found to be involved in tax evasion.

An immediate action will be taken against fraudulent, forged, and fake invoices.

These squads will examine trade chains, wholesale markets, and industrial units.

These teams will be authorized for the protection of revenue and against tax evasion.
