Gadani Customs foils bid to smuggle hashish worth Rs264m

GADANI: Collectorate of Customs Enforcement Gadani, in a successful intelligence-based operation  seized 88 kilograms of hashish (chars) with an estimated international value of Rs264 million.

The seized narcotics was concealed in 88 plastic packets along the M-8 road near Kech River, Turbat, said a news release.

Earlier on November 28, 2025, Collectorate of Customs Gadani has successfully thwarted a major narcotics smuggling attempt recovering 188kg of hashish with an estimated market value of Rs. 552.44 million. The recovered narcotics were concealed inside oversized types when a container-mounted vehicle was intercepted at the Kurkhera Check Post.

Acting on specific intelligence shared by the Collector Customs Enforcement Gadani, heightened vigilance was maintained at the Kurkhera Check Post. During an intensified inspection, a vehicle claiming to carry cut tyres was diverted for detailed examination. Customs staff discovered two large tyres, inside which hashish had been hidden using sophisticated concealment techniques.
