Faisalabad Appraisement foils bid to import banned pyrotechnic items from Customs Dry Port Multan

FAISALABAD: Collectorate of Customs (Appraisement), Faisalabad has successfully intercepted a significant attempt to import prohibited pyrotechnic items into Pakistan which were tactfully hidden/concealed inside the speaker boxes.  

Acting on the directions of the Collector, a special team of the Collectorate led by the Additional Collector and the Deputy Collector, Multan Dry Port, conducted a detailed examination of two consignments imported by Hareem Enterprises under GD Nos. MCSI-HC-367-26-11-2025 and MCSI-HC-368-26-11-2025.

 During the examination, the team not only identified multiple undeclared items and mis-declared quantity but also detected pyrotechnic items including 161 Kgs of Cold Spark Powder, hidden inside a video display trolley and 3,234 Kgs (27168 PCs) of Electric Fountain Fireworks (Electric Anaar), concealed inside speaker boxes.

These items are prohibited/banned under Serial No. 23 of Appendix-A and Serial No. 46 of Appendix-B of the Import Policy Order, 2022. The importer attempted to evade Customs scrutiny through deliberate non-declaration, mis-declaration, and concealment.

Estimated customs value & taxes of mis-declared, un-declared and concealed goods in respect of the two GDs is Rs13.024 million while duty and taxes evasion is estimated at Rs 8.99 million. FIRs have been registered against the culprits in both the cases.
