ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has officially invited customs-related proposals from stakeholders for the upcoming federal budget 2026-27.

The FBR has issued detailed guidelines and formats to facilitate the submission of proposals. Stakeholders can suggest amendments to current customs rules and procedures, as well as propose revisions to the Customs Act, 1969. The board emphasized that these inputs will play a key role in shaping a transparent, efficient, and business-friendly customs system in Pakistan.

Officials noted that the initiative seeks to streamline customs operations, reduce bottlenecks, and enhance compliance, ultimately boosting trade facilitation and economic growth. By involving industry experts and trade bodies, the FBR aims to ensure that the proposed budget measures are practical and aligned with current commercial requirements.

The board urged all relevant parties to submit their proposals within the specified timeline to ensure consideration in the 2026-27 budget planning process. Experts believe that this consultative approach can help improve Pakistan’s trade environment, strengthen revenue collection, and foster ease of doing business.

The FBR’s announcement reflects the government’s commitment to continuous engagement with the private sector and stakeholders in developing effective fiscal policies. Businesses and industry associations are encouraged to actively participate and contribute their suggestions to support a more efficient and transparent customs framework.
