The leaders described the fire as deeply alarming, not only for the traders and shopkeepers of the plaza but for the entire commercial sector.

They noted that the incident highlights the critical need for stringent safety measures and effective fire protection systems in older, multi-story commercial buildings, particularly those housing a large number of outlets like Gul Plaza, which contained over 1,200 shops.

Muhammad Ikram Rajput and Zubair Chhaya paid special tribute to the professionalism and dedication of the rescue and fire-fighting teams, who worked under extremely challenging conditions and thick smoke to safeguard lives and control the fire.

They also recognized the important contributions of federal and provincial agencies, the Pakistan Navy, Sindh Rangers, and Karachi Municipal Corporation personnel in the ongoing relief operations.
