RCCI delegation participates in US–Pakistan Symposium at Capitol Hill

RAWALPINDI: President Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), Usman Shaukat, led a business delegation to attend the symposium “US and Pakistan: Past, Present and Future” held at Capitol Hill.

The event was organized by the Congressional Pakistan Caucus under the Chatham House Rule and co-chaired by Representatives Tom Suozzi and Jack Bergman, in collaboration with the Embassy of Pakistan in the United States.

The speakers highlighted Pakistan’s growing diplomatic role, noting its recent offer to facilitate talks between the United States and Iran. Natalie Baker, Chargé d’Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Pakistan, appreciated Congress members for organizing the event.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, emphasized Pakistan’s geostrategic importance and its sacrifices in promoting global peace. Assistant Secretary of State Dr. Paul Kapur noted improving U.S.-Pakistan economic ties, particularly in key sectors.

On the occasion, RCCI President Usman Shaukat presented a report on RCCI’s recent trade delegation visit to Washington, highlighting engagements with U.S. officials and businesses to enhance bilateral trade and investment.

Congressman Tom Suozzi appreciated RCCI’s efforts in promoting trade, exports, and strengthening business-to-business and people-to-people relations.
