Pakistan’s total liquid foreign reserves rise to $ 21.79b

KARACHI: The total liquid foreign reserves of Pakistan increased to US$ 21,789.6 million as of March 27, 2026 while the reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan inched up to $ 16,381 million.

“During the week ended on 27-Mar-2026, SBP’s FX reserves increased by US$ 6 million to US$ 16,381.7 million,” the central bank reported on Thursday in its weekly statement on the position of liquid foreign reserves.

Meanwhile, the net foreign reserves held by the commercial banks surged to $ 5,407.9 million, according to the break up of forex reserves, depicting an increase of $ 47.7 million during the period under review.

Pakistan’s total liquid foreign reserves in the previous week ended on March 19, 2026 were $ 21,736 million. Among them the State Bank of Pakistan held foreign exchange reserves of $ 16,375.8 million while the other $ 5,360.2 million were held by the commercial banks.
