PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority (KPRA) held prize distribution ceremony for its first lucky draw of consumer reward scheme to distribute cash prizes among the winners of the scheme.

Advisor to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Finance Muzzammil Aslam was chief guest, who distributed prizes of Rs10,000 each among the winners of the first lucky draw of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority’s (KPRA) Consumer Rewards Scheme at KPRA Headquarters.

The Advisor also conducted the second lucky draw of the scheme, selecting 50 winners through a transparent digital process.

Earlier, the first lucky draw was held on April 3, 2026, by Director General KPRA, Irum Naz, in which 50 winners were selected, each receiving Rs10,000. The Consumer Rewards Scheme was launched by KPRA in February 2026 across four districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar, Mardan, Abbottabad, and Haripur, covering selected hotels and restaurants.

A total of 176 invoices were received from February 16 to March 15, 2026, for the first lucky draw, while 169 invoices were received for the second draw from March 16 to April 15, 2026.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Muzzammil Aslam congratulated the winners and said the initiative aims to encourage consumers to demand proper tax documentation and ensure that collected taxes are duly deposited into the government treasury. He emphasized that these revenues are utilized for public welfare through improved service delivery and development projects.

“Taxpayers are key stakeholders, and the government is committed to involving them in ensuring transparency and accountability,” he said, adding that the scheme empowers citizens to act as watchdogs against tax fraud and evasion.

The Advisor directed KPRA to introduce separate lucky draws for women and students to enhance participation. He also instructed the Authority to increase prize money and introduce multiple prize categories under the scheme.

Furthermore, he directed that strict action, including heavy fines, be taken against restaurants and hotels whose invoices cannot be verified through KPRA’s online invoice verification system.

During the visit, the Advisor also reviewed revenue collection performance and was informed that KPRA is on track to achieve its sales tax on services target for the current fiscal year.

Director General KPRA, Ms. Irum Naz, informed the Advisor that invoices submitted by participants are being thoroughly scrutinized, and notices have been issued to businesses whose invoices failed verification through KPRA’s online system. She added that KPRA officers, staff, and their family members are not eligible to participate in order to ensure transparency.

The Advisor urged the public to actively participate in the initiative for a chance to win rewards.

The Director General also thanked the Chief Guest for attending the ceremony and appreciated participants for contributing to the success of the initiative.
