KARACHI: Pakistan Single Window (PSW) and the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at accelerating the digitalization of Pakistan’s trade ecosystem and improving export facilitation services.
The agreement was signed at TDAP Headquarters in Karachi and focuses on enhancing regulatory efficiency while providing integrated digital services to exporters and importers across the country.
Under the partnership, PSW and TDAP will work together to harmonize export facilitation processes and integrate key digital platforms, including TDAP’s Pakistan Trade Portal and Exporters Directory, into the broader PSW system.
Officials said the integration will provide traders with seamless and real-time access to trade-related information and services while reducing reliance on manual procedures.
As part of the collaboration, TDAP will use its regional offices, trade associations, and international networks to engage stakeholders and promote the adoption of PSW’s paperless trade tools. TDAP will also provide PSW with dedicated space at major trade events for outreach activities.
The two organizations will also collaborate on secure trade data sharing to support market analysis and evidence-based policymaking aimed at benefiting Pakistan’s trade sector.
According to officials, the partnership includes the joint development of export-ready toolkits and compliance checklists to help small and medium enterprises (SMEs) better meet international market requirements.
A key component of the MoU is gender-responsive trade facilitation. PSW and TDAP will coordinate efforts to improve export readiness and digital inclusion for women-led businesses, including entrepreneurs associated with the WTO Award-winning Khadijah Women Entrepreneurship Program.
Speaking on the occasion, PSW Chief Executive Officer Aftab Haider said the collaboration would help create a more unified, inclusive, and equitable trade ecosystem while supporting targeted trade promotion initiatives and improving digital trade services.
The agreement also includes joint capacity-building sessions, under which PSW will provide training and orientation to TDAP officers regarding new digital modules and regulatory updates.
