Officials stated that the budget preparation process faced delays due to compliance with International Monetary Fund (IMF) conditions and the implementation of the National Fiscal Pact. However, the government is aiming to have the budget approved by the Sindh Assembly before the start of the Ashura period.

Under assembly rules, at least five days of debate are required on the budget before its final approval process can be completed.

Sources further revealed that Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah is expected to present the budget once again, marking his tenth presentation in the provincial assembly.

The upcoming budget is also expected to reflect a reduction in development spending, with the development budget likely to decline by up to 24 percent compared to the current fiscal year.
