KARACHI: The Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) collected a record Rs370.06 billion in FY2025-26, up 20.17% from Rs307.93 billion in the previous fiscal year.

The provincial tax authority said the increase was mainly driven by higher collection under the Sindh Sales Tax (SST), which rose 21.2% to Rs344.6 billion from Rs284.38 billion in FY2024-25.

Collection under the Sindh Workers’ Welfare Fund (SWWF) and the Sindh Companies Profits Workers’ Participation Fund (SWPF) increased 10% to Rs24.44 billion, compared with Rs22.25 billion a year earlier.

Revenue from Agricultural Income Tax (AIT), which was recently assigned to the SRB, also crossed Rs1 billion during the year.

The SRB also recorded its highest-ever monthly collection in June 2026, with receipts reaching Rs45.08 billion.

The June collection was 28.3% higher than Rs35.15 billion collected in May.

In a statement, the SRB said the record collection was achieved despite subdued economic growth and the impact of regional tensions on revenue generation in the latter part of the fiscal year.

The authority attributed the performance to improved tax administration, efforts of its workforce, support from the Sindh government and greater cooperation from taxpayers.

The SRB said it plans to continue revenue growth in FY2026-27 by broadening the tax base, improving voluntary compliance and accelerating digitalisation of tax administration.
