KARACHI: The government has reduced profit rates on several National Savings schemes, lowering returns for investors under selected savings instruments.
According to an official notification, the annual profit rate on the Bahbood Savings Certificate and the Pensioners Benefit Account has been reduced to 12.96 per cent.
The monthly profit rate on the Regular Income Certificate has been set at 11.52 per cent, meaning an investment of Rs100,000 will now generate a monthly return of Rs960.
The notification further stated that the Special Savings Certificate will offer a profit rate of 11.2 per cent for the first six months and 12.6 per cent for the remaining six months.
The annual return on the Shuhada Family Welfare Account has also been revised to 12.96 per cent, according to the National Savings announcement.
