Ethical business practices strengthen transparent commercial system: Zahid Bakhtawari

RAWALPINDI: Rejecting bribery and promoting ethical business practices were the foundation of a successful, transparent, and strong commercial system, declared Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) Vice President Zahid Bakhtawari.

He emphasized that honesty, adherence to the law, and mutual cooperation were essential for building a prosperous society and a stable economy, adding that if the business community embraced integrity as its guiding principle, it would not only improve the business environment but also strengthen public trust.

He expressed these views during a high-level meeting with President Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), Usman Shaukat, Group Leader Sohail Altaf, and other prominent members of the business community here on Wednesday.

Vice President, Markazi Tanzeem-e-Tajran Cantt Registered Rawalpindi, Shahzad Chaudhry, Vice Chairman Mateen Khan, and Chairman Rafique Bhattia were also present in the meeting.

During the meeting Group Leader, Sohail Altaf stated that Bakhtawari has representing the rights and concerns of both the business community and the residents of the cantonment, adding that his performance over the past nine months stood as clear evidence of his commitment to public service.

Speaking on the occasion, Zahid Bakhtawari assured that his doors would always be opened to the public and the business community, inviting anyone facing an issue to contact him directly. He assured participants that every citizen dealing with the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board would be treated fairly, transparently, and strictly in accordance with the law.

Describing bribery as a social evil that weakened institutions and society, Bakhtawari urged citizens to immediately report any employee of the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board found demanding or accepting a bribe to take prompt legal action against those responsible.

Highlighting prevailing economic challenges, Bakhtawari noted that the business community was currently facing numerous difficulties that required practical and effective solutions. He stressed that traders were the backbone of Pakistan’s economy, deserving respect and priority resolution of their issues, and emphasized that they should be consulted in all major decisions to help create a more conducive environment for business growth and economic development.
