Gwadar airport to remain closed three days a week under new schedule

GWADAR: New operating hours have been announced for Gwadar airport, under which the facility will remain closed on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, while flight operations will continue during specified hours on the remaining days of the week.

According to the revised schedule, the airport will remain operational on Mondays and Thursdays from 2:15pm to 4:45pm.

On Tuesdays, flight operations will be conducted in two slots — from 7:30am to 9:30am and from 12:30pm to 2:15pm.

The airport will operate on Sundays from 10am to 1:30pm.

The revised operating schedule will remain in effect until Dec 30, 2026.

Under the new arrangements, civil and military aircraft seeking to operate outside the designated hours will be required to inform the airport administration at least 24 hours in advance.

Sources said advance notification had also been made mandatory to facilitate the operation of unscheduled civil and non-civil aircraft.
