ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has directed all field formations to immediately implement a government decision cutting fuel supply for official vehicles by 50 percent, with the measure set to remain in effect for three months.
According to a circular issued by the FBR, the reduction will take effect immediately and apply across all relevant field formations in line with the government’s directive. Officials have been instructed to ensure full compliance with the decision.
The fuel cut will not apply to operational vehicles. Vehicles engaged in essential services, along with the FBR’s own operational fleet, have been exempted from the reduction.
However, the FBR clarified that administrative and non-operational vehicles belonging to otherwise exempt departments will still be subject to the cut, meaning the exemption is limited strictly to vehicles performing essential or operational functions.
The circular also directs concerned authorities to remain mindful of the fuel budget requirements for operational vehicles, and instructs field formations to ensure complete compliance with the government’s decision.
