Mobile phone imports increase by 6.15% to $282.87m from $266.47m in July-Nov 2014

ISLAMABAD:  The imports of mobile phones into the country increased by 6.15 per cent to $282.87m during first five months (July-Nov) of fiscal year 2014-15 as compare to the imports of $266.47m during the same period of last year.

Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) data shows that on month basis the mobile phone imports into the country during the month of Nov 2014 also increased by 19.17 per cent and decreased by 0.54pc when compared to the imports in Nov 2013 and Oct 2014 respectively.

The mobile phone imports during Nov2014 stood at $58.278m against the imports of $48.9m in Nov 2013 and $58.596m in October 2014, the data revealed. Similarly, the overall telecom imports also increased by 21.1pc during the period under review over the same period of last year. The imports of telecom in to the country during first five months of current fiscal year, were recorded at $635.709m against the imports of $524.945m in July-Nov 2013-14.

On month basis, the telecom imports during November 2014 increased by 15.42 per cent and 4.02 percent when compared to that of November 2013 and October 2014 respectively.
