EL CENTRO: Within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, we strive to help the community in many ways. During the holiday season, there are many people who enjoy a happy and warm time with friends and family. Others in our communities are less fortunate. For this reason, every year the El Centro Border Patrol Station participates in the Little Angels Program which is hosted annually by the Salvation Army.
Each year, a Christmas tree is placed at the El Centro station muster room. Along with decorations, Little Angel labels are placed on the tree with the name and age of a child that comes from a low income family. Agents then pick a label from the tree, return with a gift, and place it under the tree. This year on December 16, agents from El Centro Station delivered more than 130 gifts to the Salvation Army.
“The Little Angels program always has a great deal of participation from our agents and mission support staff. It is truly a great way for our personnel to give back to the local community and provide for children who are less fortunate during the holiday season,” said Supervisory Border Patrol Agent Joyce Golosino.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is the unified border agency within the Department of Homeland Security charged with the management, control and protection of our nation’s borders at and between the official ports of entry. CBP is charged with keeping terrorists and terrorist weapons out of the country while enforcing hundreds of U.S. laws.
