Chief Collector Nasir Masroor inaugurates KCAA Library

KARACHI: The managing committee of Karachi Customs Agents Association (KCAA) on Tuesday organised an inauguration ceremony of KCAA’s Library at its Camp Office, situated at Old Customs House Building.

Chief Collector Appraisement (South) Nasir Masroor Ahmed inaugurated the KCAA’s Library while the President KCAA Qamar Alam, General Secretary Khurram Ijaz and others were also present on the occasion. On the occasion, Nasir Masroor Ahmed expressed his gratitude and congratulated the KCAA office-bearers on the Golden Jubilee celebration and completion of 50 years of excellence.

The Chief Collector appreciated the efforts of Karachi Customs Agents Association on establishment of KCAA Library in which old record like Customs Tariff, SROs, Valuation Rulings, Public Notices, Import / Export Policies etc., from the year 1966 to till date are available for study. On the occasion, Qamar Alam stated that the establishment of KCAA’s Library at Camp Office is one of the parts of their programme in connection with the celebration of completing 50years of excellence.

Founding members of KCAA as well as former ex presidents, ex general secretaries and elected members of Managing Committee (2014-2015) were also present in inauguration ceremony. Speaking on the occasion, Alam further expressed that the Karachi Customs Agents Association (KCAA) is the representative association of Karachi Customs Agents who is working at Karachi Port and playing its vital role in generating of 80per cent revenue for the exchequer and is the main stake holder in the trade and economy of the country.

He also highlighted the benefits of this Library that this will definitely facilitate and helpful for the Customs Agents who can utilized this Library books for references in a peaceful environment.

He also said that the entire managing committee has a vision for the betterment of the Association and its members and always stand with the shoulder to shoulder with his members in case of any hardships and problems being faced to them and should made sincere efforts for getting maximum benefits and facilities for the Customs Agents Community. In the last, Alam showed his confidence to serve for the betterment of KCAA’s members, trade and to protect the rights of Karachi’s peoples who own this city.
