Collector Saleem directs officials to keep check on misdeclaration, under-invoicing and tax evasion
KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) of Appraisement-West has collected total amount of Rs 55780.49 million in terms of customs duty, sales tax, income tax and federal excise duty by the end of second quarter (October to December 2014) of the fiscal year 2014-15 against its set target of Rs 51795.86 million with an increase of Rs 3984.63 million.
According to statistics, the Appraisement-West collected Rs 21559.02 million customs duty, sales tax, income tax and FED in December 2014 against the set target of Rs 20466.57 million with an increase of Rs 1092.45 million.
The collectorate collected Rs 10131.76 million customs duty in December against its set target of Rs 10095.35 million with an increase of Rs 36.46 million.
The Appraisement-West collected Rs 8310.47 million sales tax in December against its set target of Rs 7318.74 million with an increase of Rs 991.73 million.
The collectorate collected Rs 2979.13 million income tax against its set target of Rs 2956.79 million with an increase of Rs 22.34million.
The Appraisement-West collected Rs 137.66 million FED in December 2014 against its set target of Rs 95.74 million with an increase of Rs 41.92 million.
Similarly, the collectorate collected total revenue of Rs 16300.33 million in November 2014 under the heads of customs duty, sales tax, federal excise duty and income tax.
According to details, the Appraisement-West collected Rs 16300.33 million in November 2014 against its set target of Rs 16213.30 million with an increase of Rs 87.03 million.
The collectorate collected Rs 5751.42 million customs duty in Nov 2014 against its target of Rs 6336.51 million with a shortfall of Rs 585.09 million.
The Appraisement-West collected Rs 7436.21 million sales tax in Nov 2014 against its set target of Rs 6872.81 million with an increase of Rs 563.40 million.
The collectorate collected Rs 122.27 million FED in Nov 2014 against its set target of Rs 134.13million with a shortfall of Rs 11.86 million.
The Appraisement-West collected Rs 2990.43 million income tax in Nov 2014 against its set target of Rs 2869.85 million with an increase of Rs120.58million.
Likewise, the collectorate collected Rs 17921.14 million in October 2014 under the heads of customs duty, sales tax, federal excise duty and income tax.
According to details, the Appraisement-West collected Rs 17921.14 million in October 2014 against its target of Rs 15115.99 million and surpassed the revenue target for Oct by Rs 2805.15 million.
The Appraisement-West has collected Rs 6129.19 million in share of Custom Duty against its target of Rs 5604.03million with an increase of Rs 525.16 million.
The Collectorate has collected revenue of Rs 8641.16 million sales tax in Oct against its set target of Rs 6661.24 million with an increase of Rs 1979.92 million.
The Appraisement-West collected Rs 115.20 million FED in Oct against its set target of Rs 134.24 million with a shortfall of Rs 19.04 million.
The collectorate collected Rs 3035.59 million income tax in Oct against its set target of Rs 2716.48 million with an increase of Rs 319.11 million.
The Appraisement-West forwarded the revenue collection figures to the Federal Board of Revenue.
The authorities concerned of the collectorate have expressed their satisfaction over the revenue collection and hoped that the collectorate will continue the same efforts in term of achieving and surpassing the revenue targets in the future as well.
Meanwhile, Collector Muhammad Saleem has directed the officials of the collectorate to ensure proper check on revenue leakages in terms of misdeclaration, under-invoicing and tax evasion through effective measures.
