CM Punjab to deliver 50,000 vehicles at cost of Rs 31 billion

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif inaugurated the Apni Gaari, Apna Rozgar Scheme in Lahore.

Addressing at the first balloting ceremony, he said that a total of fifty thousand vehicles will be provided to youth, at the subsidized rate. He said that this scheme has total estimate cost of thirty one billion rupees. He said that a total one lac fifty thousand applications have been received for this scheme, under which all vehicles will be provided on merit alone. He said that women have also applied for this scheme.

He said that governments cannot eliminate the unemployment of youth alone, however can manage it through its policies.

The Chief Minister said that sixty percent of country’s population comprises of youth and provision of employment to them is a great challenge for the government and every possible measure is being taken in this regard.

He said that billions of rupees have been spent on distribution of laptops among youth while scholarships are also being given to the sixty thousand youths.
