Canadian police seizes illicit drugs worth $800,000

MISSISSAUGA: Canadian Peel Regional Police Street Crime Gang Unit has seized over $800,000 worth of drugs and cash from a Mississauga home here the other day.

Five people are facing drug charges after the Officers seized 6.5 kg of cocaine, 1.7 kg of heroin, 9 oz of MDMA, 1.8 oz of crack cocaine, 1.5 oz of marijuana, 10.9 g of methamphetamine, and 71 ecstasy pills from the home, as well as $1,845 in cash.

Mississauga residents Antonio Mediati, 66, Susan Dineff, 62, and Francesco Michael Violo, 52, Bolton resident Mary Cole, 33, and Toronto resident Roberto Altomare, 45, are all facing a number of charges related to drug possession and trafficking.

Altomare and Mediati appeared in court on Jan. 4 for a bail hearing. Cole, Violo and Dineff are scheduled to appear in court Feb. 10.
