TOKYO: Subaru has taken the wraps off the 2015 BRZ GT300 and the sport car will compete in the Super GT Series.
The Subaru BRZ GT300 2015 is described as a “further evolution” of last year’s model. The Japanese company nothing say more details about sport car, but it has WR Blue Pearl exterior with an aerodynamic body kit and 18-inch BBS wheels, also has a track-tuned suspension and AP Racing brakes.
Since 2015 SUBARU BRZ GT300 is a sport race car, the company removed all non-essential equipment and added Recaro seats for driver, a racing steering wheel and special instrumentation. And Subaru upgraded the 2.0-liter engine so the sport car can produces 350 PS (257 kW) and 441 Nm (325 lb-ft) of torque.
Subaru, with the “SUBARU BRZ GT300” race car, will participate in the SUPER GT series this year as well, widely regarded as Japan’s top motorsports category. The race car employs the same front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout as the production BRZ model.
The team manager will be Hideharu Tatsumi, the team will be operated in conjunction with “R&D SPORT” led by Director Shinji Motojima, and Takuto Iguchi and newly joined Hideki Yamauchi will be driving for the team. In addition, Dunlop tires which have been used in the Nürburgring 24-Hour Race will be employed for the “SUBARU BRZ GT300” race car.
