Punjab Excise recovers Rs 231.85 million cotton fee

LAHORE: The Excise and Taxation Department has recovered 38 percent of cotton fee target in the first six months of fiscal year 2014-15.The cotton fee is levied under the Cotton Control Ordinance 1968 by the government. From July to December, the Punjab government recovered Rs 231.85 million which is 13 percent more than the last fiscal year. The excise had recovered Rs 205 million in the first six
months of fiscal year 2013-14. From July to December, the department had recovered Rs 26.813 million more as compared to the same period of the last year.
