US police seize 36 bags of cocaine, clutch two smugglers

HAMDEN, USA: US police seized dozens of bags of drugs and nabbed two smugglers as part of a lengthy investigation in Hamden here the other day.

Police said they arrested 22-year-old Dennis Baldwin of New Haven and 29-year-old Keron Troutman of Hamden.

The Hamden Police Department Street Interdiction Team said it executed a search warrant at a home on Bassett Street.

They found 36 bags of cocaine and 22 grams of marijuana. They said the items had a street value of roughly $700.

Baldwin was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of narcotics with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana with intent to sell.

Police said he was being held on a $50,000 bond and given a court date of Jan. 28 in Meriden.

Troutman, whom police said just happened to be at the scene with marijuana, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana with intent to sell.

Police said he was detained at their headquarters on a $2,500 bond. He’ll also face a judge on Jan. 28 in Meriden.
