Toyota introduces its much awaited luxury ‘Hiace’ at 4th Bus, Special vehicle show with SRS Dual Airbags in India

NEW DELHI: Toyota Kirloskar Motor has introduced its much awaited luxury commuter vehicle named ‘Hiace’ at the recently held 4th Bus and Special vehicle show. The vehicle was first showcased at the 12th Auto Expo event held last year and has been quite popular in international market for factors such as reliability, durability and refined space. The company has hinted that the 10 seater vehicle shall be launched in India sometime by second half of this year.

The Toyota Hiace is powered by the Japanese carmaker’s most trusted engine D4-D engine that shall be mated to 4-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle shall be offered in 4 row seat configuration and also get ample luggage space. Speaking more on the occasion, Mr. N Raja, Director and Senior Vice President for sales and marketing, Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd., said, “We have been continuously studying the market for customer preferences and thus based on customer needs we are showcasing the Toyota Hiace a product with premium features at the 4th Bus and Special Vehicle show. The Hiace is sold in about 140 countries and has clocked sales of around 6 million units across the world. We are showcasing the Hiace for our potential business customers. The Hiace will be the first of its kind offering from Toyota in India. Like all other Toyota vehicles, the Hiace is equally designed to provide unparalleled satisfaction in terms of comfort and safety”.

Some of the key features that Toyota Hiace gets are Power Steering, Easy closer and Power slide door, manual air conditioner with multiple air conditioning vents, power windows, illuminated entry system and rear window defogger. As for safety, the vehicle gets ABS, FR Fog lamps and LED high-mount stop. The vehicle also gets SRS Dual Airbags, Crumple Zone construction, collapsible steering column and crash safety GOA body. Pricing aspect shall be revealed at a later date by the company.
