DHAKA: Bangladesh Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) seized a tiger hide and five deer hides and detained five people at Kalabagan and Jatrabari in Dhaka here the other day.
The elite force members seized five deer skins and picked up three persons while they were trying to sell the hides in Jatrabari area in the evening, said Maj Maksudul Alam, assistant director of Rab’s Legal and Media Wing.
Based on their information, the Rab men detained two people along with the skin of a Royal Bengal Tiger from a residence in Kalabagan area, he told Customs Today.
The Rab officer added that the tiger might have been shot dead as the skin having holes.
