Gas supply to Uch Power Plant suspended pipeline blown up

DERA MURAD JAMALI – After insurgents blew up a main gas pipeline in Mir Hasan area of Nasirabad district, the gas supply to the Uch Power Plant was suspended while another pipeline was blown up in Sohbatpur region.

Saboteurs had placed explosive substance with a time device along the main gas pipeline coming from Uch gas field and detonated it with remote control, suspending supply to the power plant in Dera Murad Jamali, said official sources.

They said, “A big portion of 18-inch-diameter pipeline caught fire after the huge explosion which rocked the Mir Hasan area.” They added that the supply through the pipeline was stopped from Uch gas field. Production in the power plant was affected to some extent after the blast but engineers immediately substituted the supply from an alternative pipeline.
