NA-137 by-polls: PPP to vie for Nankana seat

LAHORE: Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) Punjab President Manzoor Wattoo has said that the party to contest the by-elections to be held on National Assembly seat NA-137-Nankana which fell vacant of the passing away of Roy Munseb Ali.

The decision was taken in a meeting, which was attended by PPP Punjab Secretary General Tanvir Ashraf Kaira, divisional co-coordinator Chaudhry Manzoor Ahmed, District President Nankana Sahib Roy Shah Jehan Bhatti, distinct president Asef Khan and others.

It was also decided in the meeting that all the endeavours of the government would be frustrated that it tend to unleash delay in the holding of such elections based on its fear of losing the seat, or use excessive administrative authority to secure the desired results.

Wattoo said that the government had proved its inaptness beyond recognition, and the people were fed up due to the back-to-back crisis. As if the load shedding of electricity and gas was not enough and now the “evaporation” of petrol from the filling stations had dashed all hopes of the people of any improvement from the current rulers, he added.
