SEOUL: There is Smartphone war between Samsung and Apple since a long time. Although Samsung is significantly in front of its competition in the global smart phone sales, Apple is definitely movingtowards Samsung to close the bridge in sales.

In recent data provided by Counterpoint research, Apple owned 33 per cent of the market share between October and November, and Samsung remained with a 46 per cent. Though this might not look like a neck to neck fight at first but the fact that this is the first time a non South Korean brand has crossed the 20 per cent mark is troubling Samsung.

The Samsung world dominance on smart phone sales is slowly fading away. It’s not only the age old competitor Apple that is troubling Samsung but also new players like Xiaomi are eating Samsung’s share in the Android market. Apple has had a huge success with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus and it was just after the launch of these new devices when the company was able to break the South Korean record. Samsung is taking a beating due to its laggy software and relatively steep prices. In a market like India the competition has grown fourfold with companies like Motorola and Xiaomi entering the race. Samsung will have to rework their interface from scratch and also set prices competitively to maintain its position in the coming years.
