SYDNEY: The Australian dollar on Tuesday tumbled to a fresh five and a half year low.
On Tuesday morning the Australian dollar was trading at c, down from 79.90 U.S. cents on Friday, before the Australia Day long weekend.
On Monday, the currency fell as low as 78.72 U.S. cents, its weakest level since July 2009.
