KARACHI: The projects of K-IV water supply scheme alongwith S-III sewerage disposal scheme that were started with the support of Chinese investors are lifeline for Karachi, said Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan .
Talking to a delegation of Chinese investors, led by Zhu Yujian, chairman, Jiangsu Huachang Chemicals, that called on him at the Governor House here, he said the cordial relationship between Pakistan and China are extensively endorsed by the people of the two countries.
“It is on basis of this bondage that the Sindh government is keen to have Chinese investments for its series of mega-projects,” said the Governor.
The tremendous achievements made by China in the field of agriculture can also be replicated in Sindh through proper guidance and support of Chinese agriculture scientists.
“This is extremely relevant as Sindh is blessed with natural resources and these if adequately developed can significantly strengthen national economy,” Dr Ishrat said.
He said that while natural resources hold their own peculiar relevance the agriculture sector in Sindh also needs to be promoted on scientific lines.
The Governor regretted that it was lack of value addition that has denied the agricultural products and crops of the country to clinch adequate returns in the international markets.
“Since, the government believes in a holistic approach hence attention is also being paid towards progress of agriculture sector on strong lines so as to ensure that the people dependent on the sector to attain optimum benefits,” he said.
