KARACHI: The water crisis has increased as the power breakdown in the country stopped the functioning of all the pumping stations of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) for over eight hours.
“Due to the breakdown, the metropolis was deprived of around 250 million gallons per day,” said a KWSB spokesperson. He warned residents of Karachi to be economical in their use of water for the next four days, saying that it was possible that there may be no water supply for some parts of the city.
“The breakdown affected pumping stations including those at Dhabiji, Gharo, NEK, Hub and Pipri,” he explained.
