CNG sector to directly import LGN from March 31: APCNGA lauds decision

ISLAMABAD – An official of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources said the CNG sector will directly import the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) after which no filling station would face closure. The official added that the import of LNG will start from March 31 in Pakistan.

He said, “After arrival of LNG the annual demand of petrol in Punjab would be reduced by almost two billion litres per annum. He said that import of LNG will have a positive impact on all the people and every sector of Pakistan. He said that the CNG was an important part of Pakistan’s energy mix and efforts were under way to revive the industry as early as possible.

All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA) central leader Ghiyas Abdullah Paracha lauded the government’s support for import of LNG for CNG sector terming it is the beginning of the end of energy crisis in Pakistan. Ghiyas said that with the use of LNG to the CNG sector around two billion litres of petrol will be saved annually and price of CNG will be fixed in litres instead of kilogramme.
