1915 helpline, FM radio channel: Traffic wardens system being launch in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: After observing success in Punjab, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to launch the first phase of traffic warden system in the provincial capital from first week of March.

According to a police spokesman, this was discussed during a meeting under the chairmanship of Inspector General Nasir Khan Durrani to ensure transparent and corruption-free enforcement of traffic laws and to educate and guide the citizens of the fast growing metropolitan city having a population of around 7.1 million.

The DIG and SSP of traffic briefed the IGP on the salient features and implementation status of the traffic warden system for Peshawar. The traffic warden service will also be featuring a dedicated helpline 1915 and FM radio channel for updating and guiding the citizens about the traffic congestions and alternate routes on real time basis.
