PERTH: The Australian dollar tumbled against the US dollar in the early trade on Friday morning, as central banks around the world moved to ease economic policy against the backdrop of potential US interest rate increases.
Shortly after 9am the Aussie is fetching US77.67¢, down from US78.75¢ at Thursday’s local close and US78.86¢ on Thursday morning. It fell as low as US77.20c overnight.
