Punjab CM directs early completion of 1,000MW LNG Park, eyes energy relief through LNG import

LAHORE – Directing the authorities concerned to finish the task of setting up LNG Park that would generate 1,000MW electricity, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said the government has been taking steps to meet energy needs as the crisis has seriously affected education, health, agriculture and other social sectors.

He was briefed about ongoing energy projects during the meeting. “LNG is being imported to overcome energy crisis,” he said. He told another meeting that reforms are being introduced in education, health, law and order and other sectors to provide maximum facilities to the masses.

He said the Punjab government is introducing the system of reward and punishment. He added education and health sectors as are directly linked with the masses and there is a need of achieving the targets set in these sectors for betterment.
