LONDON: Freedom Logistics UK has acquired Heathrow & Leeds Bradford Airport based Prime Logistics International in a bid to strengthen its hold in the UK logistics sector.
Financial details of the deal have not been disclosed.
The company will continue to trade separately as a new subsidiary unit which will be rebranded as Freedom Logistics.
Freedom Logistics UK has obtained funds for the acquisition from the Royal Bank of Scotland.
Freedom Logistics managing director Chris Houghton said: “The acquisition of Prime Logistics represents an exciting phase in our overall growth strategy to establish a clearer footprint in the UK logistics market. The operation at Heathrow includes a 3,000 sq ft warehouse and a fleet of vans.”
Ray Crawford, who has been associated with Prime for more than 12 years, said: “This represents a great opportunity to broaden our freight network beyond our established logistics bases at London Heathrow and Leeds Bradford Airports with our dedicated team of freight professionals now supported by a financially strong parent company”.
