HTC Desire 820 Dual Sims available in India at Rs 21500

NEW DELHI: The HTC Desire 820 Dual SIM and OnePlus One goes on sale, pricing of these devices is pretty close. Comparing of specs will cause of user’s choice.

Although the latter is available only via an invitational process. These both have some very decent specs and so buyers may find it hard to choose between them. Today we have an HTC Desire 820 vs. OnePlus One India price and specs shootout.

Processors

The HTC Desire 820 Dual SIM has a Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor (4 cores at 1.5GHz and 4 cores at 1GHz), with Adreno 405 graphics. The OnePlus One has a 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor and Adreno 330 GPU.

Display

The Desire 820 has a 5.5-inch LCD display with resolution of 1280 x 720 and 267 ppi. The OnePlus One has a 5.5-inch LTPS LCD display, this time with resolution of 1920 x 1080 and 401 ppi.

RAM and Storage

The HTC phone has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage that’s expandable via microSD to 128GB. The OnePlus handset has 3GB of RAM and comes in 16 or 64GB options (non-expandable).

Camera set-up

The Desire 820 has a 13-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and LED flash, as well as an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. The OnePlus One has a 13-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and dual-LED flash, and also a 5-megapixel front-facing unit.

Battery

The Desire 820 has a non-removeable 2600 mAh battery while the OnePlus One has a non-removable 3100 mAh battery.

Connectivity

Both phones support 3G, 4G LTE, WiFi Direct, WiFi hotspot and DLNA, GPS, and microUSB 2.0. The Desire 820 has WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0 and the OnePlus One has WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 4.1.

 

Operating Systems

This is a differentiating factor as the Desire 820 runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat skinned with HTC’s Sense 6 UI. The OnePlus phone runs CyanogenMod 11 OS for a customizable experience, based on Android 4.4.2 KitKat, upgradable to 4.4.4.

 

Dimensions and Weight

The Desire 820 measures 157.7mm x 78.7mm x 7.7mm and weighs 155g. The One measures 152.9mm x 75.9mm x 8.9mm and weighs 162g.

 

Price

The HTC Desire 820 Dual SIM launched in India at Rs. 24,990 although it can now be found on sale from around Rs. 21,500. The OnePlus One 64GB is currently available through Amazon India at Rs. 21,999.

 

Pricing of these devices is pretty close, so comparing specs will bring you nearer to a decision. Let’s take a look. The Desire 820 benefits from an octa-core processor, expandable storage, a higher megapixel front-facing camera, and is the slimmer handset. It’s also a dual SIM handset. Meanwhile the OnePlus One has a faster processor, higher resolution display, more RAM and internal storage, dual-LED flash, and a higher capacity battery, so you will want to take into account what is more important to you.

We’re not going to choose which has the best software experience, as preference of Android skinned with Sense 6 and the customizable CyanogenMod is down to individual preference. As well as this your choice of design will come into play, while you should also consider build quality and after-sales service
