Oman MSM30 index closes at 6,572.23 points, up by 0.21%

MUSCAT: Oman MSM30 index closed at 6,572.23 points with a positive note, and increased by 0.21 percent. MSM Sharia index increased by 0.16 per cent to close at 982.84 points.

Al Anwar Holding was the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover. United Power, up by 9.97 per cent was the top gainer on Sunday while Al Sharqia Investments, down by 3.17 per cent, was the top loser of the day.

A total number of 1,486 trades were executed during the day’s trading session generating turnover of OMR6.18 million with more than 23.4 million shares changing hands. Out of 41 traded stocks, 22 advanced, seven declined and 12 remained unchanged. Omani investors were net buyers for OMR400,000 while Foreign Investors were net sellers for OMR255,000 followed by GCC & Arab Investors for OMR145,000 worth of shares.

Financial Index closed at 8,041.91 points, up by 0.25 per cent. Al Anwar Holding, Gulf Investment Services, Oman & Emirates Holding, Al Madina Takaful and Bank Muscat increased by 3.49 per cent, 3.27 per cent, 2.40 per cent, 2.25 per cent and 1.32 per cent respectively. Al Sharqia Investments, HSBC Bank Oman, Al Batinah Power, Ahli Bank and Bank Dhofar decreased by 3.17 per cent, 2.07 per cent, 0.97 per cent, 0.89 per cent and 0.56 per cent respectively.

Industrial Index increased by 0.20 per cent to close at 8,542.97 points. Al Hassan Engineering, Gulf International Chemicals, Al Maha Ceramics, Al Anwar Ceramics and Voltamp Energy increased by 3.67 per cent, 3.63 per cent, 2.78 per cent, 2.22 per cent and 2.04 per cent respectively. Oman Cement and Galfar Engineering declined by 1.57 per cent and 1.16 per cent respectively.

Services Sector Index closed at 3,550.64 points, up by 0.23 per cent. United Power, OIFC, Al Jazeera Services, Omantel and Al Batinah Power increased by 9.97 per cent, 2.56 per cent, 1.18 per cent, 0.57 per cent and 0.56 per cent respectively.
