TOKYO: Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare first week sales have revealed a bit of a surprise. The Xbox One and 360 platforms accounted for 53% of the total sales during the first week of release.

When looking at the actual individual console numbers, the PlayStation 4 led all platforms with 35% of the sales, followed closely by the Xbox One with 32%. In the battle of the older platforms, the Xbox 360 destroyed the PlayStation 3 with 21% of the total sales, while the PS3 was only able to manage just 11%.

Activision has yet to reveal the exact sales numbers, but we have heard whispers that Advanced Warfare was able to outsell recent power house releases such as Titan fall, Destiny, and Wolfenstein: The new order combined to become the fastest selling Call of Duty title of all time. That is impressive.

There is still more sales to go and Activision will keep ringing the cash register long into the new year.
