Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Micromax Unit 2 to release on April 7, 2015, company reveals

NEW DELHI: Micromax revealed that it will soon be releasing the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Unite 2 smartphone in the country. The update will go live over-the-air beginning April 7, 2015.

The update will automatically reach the Unite 2 devices, however the consumers will also be able to trigger it by going to Settings > About Phone > Software Update.

The company has not shared an official update change-log at this point, but you can expect to see the usual Lollipop changes like UI improvements, enhanced notifications, better performance, battery-life improvements and more.

Micromax has also revealed that Unite 2 is its one of the most successful smartphones and it has sold over 1.5 million units of the phone within a year of launch.

“Launched with the aim to remove the language barrier in the country, Unite 2 was the world’s first phone with 21 languages support. The sale figure of the smartphone highlights the need of our masses for a more efficient technological experience which gives them the freedom to communicate through their phones in the comfort of their native language,” Micromax wrote in a press release.
